Sorry the cameraman shut off his recording prematurely. But I still value this wonderful experience with one of the best traditional jazz bands in the world.
This was the last performance of the long running Sacramento Music Festival. We closed it out! Sadly…
With singer Tessie Marie, Bassist Alie (Cat) Marcel and (Ratatat) Pat Balcomb, we played often at the Shady Lady and were nominated for a Sammie for Best Blues Band. We headlined at the Flamingo Blues and Tattoos Festival twice and also played at the Volcanoville Blues Festival. It was a great run and really helped me refine my blues guitar playing style.
I sat in with the Herdin’ Cats Big Band at the Sac Yard Community Tap House. The band is led by trombinist Steve Gonsoulin.
